TREK ETHIOPIA 2011 - GULF FOR GOOD CHALLENGE
Thank you Gulf for Good for your ongoing support which has assured the success of RAEY and enables ongoing projects in order to improve the lives of the children and empower the community at large.
Our greatest need is to expand the school and enable many more children in poverty who are currently on waiting list to receive the very special education provided by RAEY and complete their education with RAEY’S support.
We are thrilled that the Gulf for Good (GFG), challenge from 10th to the 19th of March 2011 was set in the Simien Mountains in Ethiopia. Funds raised are now enabling us to build the first stages of the new Community Centre and School.

Cooking Demo and Fundraiser @ Magnolia, Madinat Jumeirah
Two weekends ago, my friend J invited me to attend her fundraiser that was hosted at Magnolia, a vegetarian well-being restaurant in Madinat Jumeirah. Via Gulf for Good, she had participated in a summit of Ras Dashen, Ethiopia’s highest peak, to raise money for an Ethiopian charity called RAEY… Click here to read more.

2010 PLANT A SEED: PROJECT FOR WOMEN BY WOMEN
The Project: 145 women will be given one Survival kit which contains:
Ø Essentials such as underwear, clothing garment and sanitary items in a reusable bag.
Ø Seeds will be carrots, sweet potato, black peas and spinach as nutrient rich foods.
Ø Total value of bag will be $20 US.
Ø There will be a small water container and some materials to prepare soil.
Ø We will support women by having designated RAEY volunteers (Ethiopian) available to assist.
Ø Family will use 50% of the vegetables grown and 50% will be given to RAEY for children and rest for sale.
Ø On receipt of survival kit, women will receive $20 US and have a share position in the RAEY Garden project.

‘Run For RAEY’
On January 22nd a dedicated “Run for RAEY” team tackled the Standard Charter 10km Road Race to run for a cause.
